Coronavirus Updates for Our Customers

The well-being of our employees and customers is always our bank’s top priority. Today, of course, that means paying special attention to the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), so we’d like to share with you some of the ways we are addressing the current situation.

 

Branch Lobby Service by Appointment

  • In an effort to reduce in-person contact, we are now serving customers through our drive-up and video teller lanes with limited lobby access at all of our branches. Customers may access the lobby as needed, but we ask that you call ahead or schedule an appointment with a banker.
  • Our bank branches regularly undergo professional-grade cleaning, which includes disinfecting all hard surfaces. We have increased the frequency of these cleanings, as well as our supply of disinfectants and hand sanitizers at all our branches. 
 

Paycheck Protection Loans for Small Businesses

Paycheck Protection Loans are forgivable loans that allow business owners to continue paying their employees during the COVID-19 crisis. Small businesses with fewer than 500 employees may qualify for up to 8 weeks of payroll costs, including benefits. Hawthorn Bank is currently accepting PPP applications.

Economic Impact Payments

As part of the CARES Act, most Americans will receive a stimulus check to provide financial relief. The IRS uses the information in your 2018 or 2019 tax return to calculate your payment and send or deposit your check.

Financial Scams

As always, please remain vigilant. Scam artists will try to use the economic impact payments as cover for schemes to steal personal information and money. Remember, the IRS will never call, text or contact you on social media to ask for bank account information – even related to the economic impact payments.

Financial Hardship Relief Measures

Our bank has always done what we can to assist customers facing financial difficulties. Today, we are:

  • Offering mortgage relief programs for customers who may have income uncertainty. Call 1-833-554-0713 or email MortgageRelief@hawthornbank.com for more information.
  • Waiving purchase fees on Hawthorn Bank Visa gift cards through June 30
